Learn to snipe Solana meme coins at launch using SolTradingBot. Step-by-step setup, settings, and strategies to get early entries on new tokens.

To snipe tokens on Solana, you need a Telegram trading bot like SolTradingBot. The process is: find an unlaunched token on Photon or DexScreener, copy the contract address, paste it into SolTradingBot’s Token Sniper, set your buy amount, and wait. When trading opens, the bot automatically buys before most manual traders can react.

Sniping lets you enter tokens at extremely low market caps — often under $10K. The tradeoff is high risk: most new tokens fail, and you’re competing against other snipers. This guide covers everything you need to get started.

⚠️ Disclaimer: Sniping meme coins is extremely risky. Most tokens go to zero. Never snipe with money you can’t afford to lose.

What is Token Sniping?

Token sniping means automatically buying a token the moment trading opens. Instead of manually clicking “buy” when you see a launch, a bot executes the trade in milliseconds.

Why it matters:

  • New tokens can 10-100x in minutes
  • Manual buyers often miss the best entry
  • Bots can buy before the token even shows on DEX interfaces

The catch:

  • 90%+ of sniped tokens lose money
  • You’re competing against professional snipers
  • Rug pulls and scams are common

Step-by-Step: How to Snipe Tokens with SolTradingBot

Step 1: Find Tokens Before They Launch

Finding Coins To Snipe

The first step is finding tokens that haven’t started trading yet. Here’s my process:

  1. Open Photon and go to the New Pairs tab

  2. Look for “Trading Opens” tokens — These haven’t launched yet Trading Opens

  3. Check the basics before sniping:

    • ✅ LP burned or locked (dev can’t rug liquidity)
    • ✅ Contract not renounced (can still be suspicious)
    • ✅ Reasonable starting liquidity ($5K+)
    • ❌ Avoid honeypots (check if sells work on similar tokens)
  4. Copy the contract address — You’ll need this for the sniper

Step 4: Fund Your Wallet

Fund Your Wallet With SOL

To snipe, you need SOL in your SolTradingBot wallet:

  1. Copy your wallet address from the bot
  2. Send SOL from your main wallet (Phantom, exchange, etc.)
  3. Wait for confirmation (usually under 30 seconds)

How much to start with:

Risk LevelAmountNotes
Testing0.1 SOLLearn the system
Casual0.5-1 SOLA few snipes
Active2-5 SOLMultiple positions

⚠️ Only deposit what you can afford to lose completely.

Step 5: Configure Sniper Settings

Customize Your Sniper Settings

Before your first snipe, optimize these settings:

Essential settings:

SettingRecommended ValueWhy
Tip (Priority Fee)0.001-0.005 SOLHigher = faster execution
Slippage50-100%High volatility at launch
WSOL Snipe✅ EnabledFaster than regular SOL

How to configure:

  1. Type /settings or tap the Settings button
  2. Adjust Tip to 0.001 SOL minimum
  3. Set Slippage to 50% (increase if snipes fail)
  4. Enable WSOL Snipe — this requires converting SOL to WSOL first

Converting to WSOL:

  • In the bot, find the Wrap/Unwrap option
  • Convert the amount you want to snipe with
  • WSOL transactions process faster than regular SOL

Step 6: Set Up Your Snipe

Set Up Your Sniper

Now you’re ready to create a snipe:

  1. Type /start to go to the main menu
  2. Click Token Sniper
  3. Paste the contract address you copied earlier
  4. The bot will show token info — verify it’s correct

Step 7: Choose Your Snipe Amount

Choose Snipe Amount

Select how much to buy:

  • Use preset buttons (0.1, 0.5, 1 SOL, etc.)
  • Or tap “Snipe X SOL” for a custom amount

Once you confirm, the sniper is active. It will automatically buy when trading opens.

To cancel: Click “Cancel Sniper” before trading starts.

Step 8: Manage Your Positions

After the snipe executes:

  1. Type /trades to see your positions
  2. Monitor the price in Photon or DexScreener
  3. Set take-profit or stop-loss orders
  4. Sell when you’re ready (or when it goes to zero 💀)

Selling tips:

  • Take profits in stages (sell 50% at 2x, etc.)
  • Don’t get greedy — most tokens dump quickly
  • If it 10x’d, strongly consider selling most

Advanced Sniping Strategies

Strategy 1: The Quick Flip

  • Snipe with small amount (0.1-0.2 SOL)
  • Sell immediately at 50-100% profit
  • Win rate matters more than size

Strategy 2: Conviction Plays

  • Research the team/community first
  • Snipe with larger size on high-confidence plays
  • Hold through initial volatility

Strategy 3: Multi-Bot Setup

  • Use multiple bots (SolTradingBot + Trojan)
  • Different wallets for different strategies
  • Redundancy if one bot is slow

FAQ

Yes, sniping is legal. It’s simply using automation to buy tokens faster. However, some forms of MEV (miner extractable value) and front-running are ethically gray areas.

How much money do I need to start sniping?

You can start with as little as 0.1 SOL ($15-20). Most beginners should start small while learning the system. Don’t deposit more than you can afford to lose.

Why do my snipes keep failing?

Common causes: slippage too low (increase to 50-100%), insufficient priority fee (increase tip), or the token launched before you set up. WSOL snipes are faster than regular SOL.

What percentage of sniped tokens make money?

Realistically, 10-20% at best. Most tokens either rug immediately or slowly bleed to zero. Profitable snipers make money by cutting losses fast and letting winners run.

Can I snipe on pump.fun?

Yes, but pump.fun has its own mechanics. Sniping works best on standard Raydium launches. For pump.fun strategies, see my pump.fun guide.

What’s the difference between sniping and copy trading?

Sniping = buying at token launch. Copy trading = automatically copying another wallet’s trades. Both use bots, but for different purposes. For copy trading, see my copy trading guide.
